Since Star Wars 1313 was meant to take place between the prequel and original Star Wars trilogies, Fett’s armor would have evolved throughout the story, changing and becoming stronger, more familiar, as he progressed. As you can see in the art above, Fett is standing in front of the Slave One and still wearing his father's iconic helmet. Here we see a young Fett very early in the game, long before he even has his Mandalorian armor, instead wearing only his most basic outfit. Various bounty hunters seen in the game would have worked for different crime bosses, and Boba Fett unsurprisingly served Jabba the Hutt. Star Wars 1313 would have begun with a prologue on Tattooine.

We can’t show you that full demo just yet, but we can tell you how it played out and what the game was about, plus reveal new pieces of concept art that give us the best glimpse yet at how Star Wars 1313 evolved before its cancellation. While footage in the demo was still in development and much of it was still using incomplete assets, it was the most extensive look at 1313 we've ever seen, and all of it included Boba Fett in action. Everything Disney has produced so far has been part of its newly established Star Wars canon, so it’s unlikely we’ll see 1313 make a comeback and Fett’s story shift from a sad guy trying to get people to like him, to the man of mystery he once was.ĭo you think Star Wars 1313 should have been released? Let us know in the comments below.Play Recently, a source showed IGN a 15 minute demo of 1313 that would have debuted at this year's E3. As such, it seems like the ship has firmly sailed on Star Wars 1313, and Boba Fett’s position as a mysterious and (mostly) faceless bounty hunter will remain spoiled. It’s been confirmed that EA is working on three Star Wars games currently, which include the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel, a new game from Apex Legends and Titanfall creator Respawn, and a strategy title. This means that the opportunity to make something like Star Wars 1313 about Fett has been and gone, and we’ll never get the opportunity again to establish a canon for Fett that’s more interesting than him teaching Tuskens to ride a speeder like a Bantha. Unfortunately, much like Rise of Skywalker canonically ruined Luke and Anakin’s story, The Book of Boba Fett ensures that this once mysterious character will now always be this sad bounty hunter trying to convince Mos Espa’s bored residents to love him. It hasn’t exactly made for a rollercoaster ride. I get that it’s supposed to be the story of Boba earning respect, but we’re five episodes into a seven-episode run and he’s still mostly meandered around Tatooine being moderately diplomatic. In The Book of Boba Fett, we see Boba blast his way out of the Sarlacc Pit with relative ease, become oddly enamored with his Tusken captors, and walk around Tatooine with no one particularly bothered by his presence. In the footage we see Boba exploring new worlds, chasing down bounties, and indulging in some Uncharted-esque action setpieces. Boba Fett is the lead character here, too, but rather than the weirdly altruistic undemocratically elected leader we’re shown in The Book of Boba Fett, he’s instead doing bounty hunter-y things. On the other hand, leaked Star Wars 1313 gameplay footage has surfaced today, offering our first look at what we could have had with the canceled action game. Instead, we learn that directly after Return of the Jedi, Boba’s Joe Rogan-looking ass spent most of his time trying to convince ambivalent aliens to respect him. And considering Boba’s personality wasn’t exactly well-established, I’d be fine with a different being taken, if that route was more interesting than what I’d already conjured up in my imagination. The Mandalorian, so it clearly wanted to go a different route with Boba Fett. How Star Wars 1313 looked like a better Boba Fett storyĭisney already gave us a super cool, stoic bounty hunter in the form of Din Djarin, a.k.a. In the new Disney Plus series, we get to know everything about him - and turns out, it’s pretty boring. Boba Fett was an interesting character because he had a cool design and we didn’t know much about him.

It’s not the worst thing to come from Disney-era Star Wars, but it certainly isn’t the best either, and it highlights a bunch of problems fans have with the House of Mouse’s handling of the license.
